Sacred River is an affiliation of like-minded people grounded in progressive ethics and Religious Naturalism, a non-theistic spiritual orientation that excludes supernatural beings, places, and forces. We seek the enhancement of liberty and well-being for every person while simultaneously cultivating social responsibility and environmental stewardship. We promote greater meaning, fulfillment, and joy in our individual lives and encourage the four virtues of courage, integrity, beneficence, and openness. Sacred River hopes to develop new myths, rituals, and artforms that embody our growing understanding of the natural world and what it means to be human.
